Knitting Up A Storm!

Wednesday, February 01, 2006

I have declared February the month of knitting socks. This month I plan to make socks for:

  • My brother in law (need to rip the 1st one - it turned out really wonky)
  • My nephew (have the yarn - just need to kick my butt and start)
  • My daughter (one done, 2nd one started)
  • Myself (started 1st one)

February is a short month, I don't want to have high hopes of finishing a whole bunch of stuff and then fail. Socks are small and relatively quick, as long as I keep to my tried and true method, I should be fine. And the great thing is, everyone will be so happy with the socks. It is a win win situation.

During the month of January I set goals, which I met, all except finishing the one panel of the blanket I started in January 2003. I only have 4" left to go and the damn panel will be done. Then only 4 more panels to go. I love this blanket, however I can never seem to get in the mood to knit it, so I force myself to knit it on the mornings when I have a few minutes. The thing that keeps me going is, I know it will be so lovely when it is done, and I will enjoy it immensely that I can't possibly rip it out and use the yarn for something else.

I am sure it will be another 3-6 years before this thing is done, but I must finish what I started.

Have a good one folks.
