I'm Back - is Anyone Out There?

Hey, hey, hey, I'm back. Not the best time to come back on the scene considering all that has occurred in the U.S. If you can donate any amount of money to the Canadian Red Cross, please do what you can. They need all the help they can get.

As this is a knitting blog, I'll give you knitting. What have I been up to since the end of May? Listed in no particular order:

FOs:

  • Soliel #2 used 4.5 balls of elann.com's Sonata, Yellow (1st one in Burgundy didn't turn out so well)
  • Patons Pattern - Slip Stitch Tank. Used 4 balls of GGH Mississippi and this one is too small so J owns it.
  • Branching Out Scarf. Used 2 balls of Sidar Linen. I LOVE this scarf and I'm looking forward to fall so I can wear it.
  • A scarf for J's JK & SK teacher, which I didn't a picture of, but it is orange/purple soft fluffy stuff. I hope she likes it.
  • Fleece Artist scarves - The blue one is for my SIL, the orange/pink is for me.
  • Broadripple Socks from knitty.com using Tess Design yarn bought from Maryland W&S Festival. Oh My God. This is the softest, most beautiful sock yarn I have EVER knit with. I wish we could get this stuff in Canada - it would fly off the shelves.
  • Ankle socks for M, using left over yarn from the above project.

UFOs:

  • Ribby Cardi - needs zipper
  • J's Cardi - needs zipper and seam sleeves to cardi
  • Sitcom Chic - needs button (I finally bought one) and the underarm seamed
  • Kate - knit one more sleeve and seam (not in picture)
  • Mini Sweater - half completed (not in picture)

Spinning:

  • Take a look at this. It is mine, all mine. It was made in the 1940s or so the lady who sold it to me said. Does it work? I have no idea, but Sandra (blogger no more) is coming over to show me and I'll keep you posted. If it doesn't work, it will be slated for decoration and I have the perfect spot for it.

Family:

  • Yep, I cut most of my hair off. Believe it or not, it has grown about 2". I hated it at first. The lady butchered my hair. You know it is THAT bad when your own mother sucks in her breath at first glance and doesn't try to sugar coat the situation. It's growing in nicely, so now I can't complain about it. Well, not much anyway.
  • My oldest is heading on over to Grade 1 and my youngest is entering JK. This FLOORS me. They are now 6 and 4 years old and I wonder where the hell time has gone? Does anyone know?

That is it for now. Ciao babies.
